PC/104 DSP Selection Guide

Stackable PCI and ISA DSP Modules and Controllers

RTD offers a broad line of Digital Signal Processing Modules based on Texas Instruments’ high-performance DSPs. These specialized modules speed up math-intensive operations permitting the CPU to manage other application specific tasks. dspModules also operate as stand-alone processors by using the on-board Flash memory to store executable programs, thereby reducing overall system costs and power consumption when a CPU is not needed. All dspModules are programmable in C/C++ using Texas Instruments’ Code Composer Studio and RTD’s dspFramework™ libraries to streamline software development. RTD offers dspModules in two configurations: Coprocessors and Accelerators. The DSP Coprocessors are PC/104-Plus, and provide a passthrough ISA connector. This allows the dspModule to be located anywhere in the system. The DSP Accelerators are PCI-104, and provide a PlatformBus™ to directly connect front-end cards to the dspModule.
