Description:

The EFM104 provides a direct and reliable connection to wired telephone networks.  It supports modern ITU Data/Fax protocols, making it interoperable with most data and fax systems.  The onboard Multitech Socket Modem module has Telecom approval in more than 50 countries and holds the following certifications: UL1950, EN6050, CSA 950, AS 3260, CCC, FCC Part 15 (Class B), Canada (Class B), EN55022 (Class B), EN55024.

This board is especially designed to operate over the full -40 to +85C temperature range commonly required in industrial and outdoor installations. Integrated on your EFM104 board is a complete 16C550 compatible serial port that can be flexibly configured with jumpers for any standard COM port address or any free address space. Both XT and AT interrupts are supported. The control registers of the board are overlaid in Base Address + 400h. The onboard 16 digital I/O lines can be used for general purpose digital control with TTL signal levels. The lines are grouped into two 8-bit ports. The input port lines are pulled low with a 10K resistor. The digital I/O connector is compatible with the RTD GSM20 Wireless GSM modem pinout.
